Thirty-Two

My thirty second birthday was last week and despite the fact that I am now "in my thirties" and it is starting to sound older, I am quite happy about it. We had a great weekend at the Spectrum for the train and carousel, some swimming, and a BBQ at my parents. Bring on the mid-thiries... I am ready.

Toy Story Mania

My kids love Toy Story. We have been busy reading Toy Story books and watching Toy Story 1 and 2 in an anticipation of Toy Story 3. Hudson is Buzz Lightyear and Cannon is Woody (according to Hudson) and Hudson wants to wear his Toy Story shirts and shoes all the time. Funny how we have gone from Thomas the Train to Disney's Cars (still a fav) and now Toy Story. Hudson has seen Toy Story 3 twice already (once with my mom and once with me) and while he wanted to leave a few times during the scary parts, he loved it. I am sure we will go again! We arent all that sure that Cannon will sit through it yet. Maybe next time.

Cuzzies

These two cousins...

...are so cute...

...and love each other so much...

...and are so silly together...

...and can't get enough of each other...

...and even though they might be trouble together one day...

...I can't get enough of them and these cute pictures.

Zoo

I took the boys to the Santa Ana Zoo earlier this week. Great little local zoo with a train, a carousel, lots of monkeys, a petting/feeding zoo and much more...

The train.

The ENC

There are so many fun things to do with the kids to get them out of the house. The ENC is so close to us and, until the other day, I had never even heard of it. It is the Environmental Nature Center and it is fun and free and the kids loved running around. Next time we will bring our lunch and eat at one of the many picnic tables situated along the trails.

They have some snakes, frogs and spiders.

Animal skins.

We only found a few butterflies in the butterfly house.

We found a few lizards.

Pretend City

I took Cannon to Pretend City on Wednesday and met my friend Tori and her son Everett. It was nice to take Cannon out on his own, without Hudson. It is a little sad, but usually when it's just Cannon and I, I do something boring like grocery shopping, laundry, clean, or cook. It is easier to do those things with just one child and poor Cannon is usually the one to go with me on such errands. Anyways, Wednesday he got to do something fun and he loved it. Because it was just him, I followed him around and he got to decide what and where we went at Pretend City. Since he usually has to follow Hudson, this was a nice change for him.

River June 2010

We had so much fun this weekend at the River. The kids loved it. The adults had fun. And the weather was HOT! Now if only Cannon would have slept better and not woken up for the day at 330am trying to get outside! At least he liked the river. I guess it would have been worse if he hated it and wanted to stay in bed all day.

Boys passed out on the boat:

Face

Dont give Hudson the markers before you put the paper out. He can't wait that long and needs to color on something immediately.

Better than the walls.
