Better than the walls.

18 Months

Cannon is a year and a half. It seems crazy that he is 18 months old already. It seems he went from baby to big boy overnight. He is still my little baby but don't tell him that because he wants nothing to do with being a baby. He does everything Hudson does and most of the time he does it really well. He keeps up and it scares us. He is a really fast runner, very coordinated at most things he does. Scooters, plasma cars, stairs, climbing, slides, etc. He has no fear. None. He loves to be outside. He throws himself against closed doors, to the point of injury, hoping that someone will eventually open it and let him out to play. He says a lot of words, maybe 50 or 60, but I think only we understand him most of the time. He is friendly and says Hi and Bye to everyone we see. He makes his dislikes known by yelling at us and boy is he stubborn. He is my climber, always wanting to be on everyone else's level. He climbs on the couch, he climbs up the side of the stairs, up chairs, up his highchair, onto tables. He has climbed out of his crib twice now and we now have the crib mattress on the floor, hoping to buy ourselves a couple more months before we have to think about a big kid bed for him.

Cannon makes our family so happy and brings us so much joy. I smile and laugh with him (and at him) all day. My little man is growing up and I love it... but it also makes me a little sad.

Boys Will Be Boys

I know all kids wrestle and it is no different around our house. Hudson and Gia always wrestle and Cannon wanted in on the action. Well, it isn't really new around here with Hudson and Cannon but it has increased significantly lately. Nothing bad. They are both giggling the whole time.

Hudson Says

Hudson was sitting next to another mom at swimming and they were talking. She later told me, while laughing hysterically, that she asked him "how many kids does your mommy have" to which he replied:

"My mommy has two stinky boys."

Hudson's swim teacher is on vacation and she told him that she was going on an airplane. Today, the new replacement teacher asked him if he knew where his teacher went and he said "yeah, the airport."

I was talking to Hudson about what he wanted to be when he grew up. We were talking about Pretend City where they have a restaurant to work at, a doctor's office to pretend in, a fire station...etc. I asked him what he was going to do to make money for his family when he got bigger. I asked if he wanted to work with Daddy. He said "I'm just going to open my piggy bank and use that money."

Hudson now loves Toy Story. And he says "Buzz Limeyear" and "to in-finibee and beyond."

A little girl in Hudson's class is going to be a big sister soon. The class was talking about how her mommy had a baby in her belly. And Hudson had to join in and tell the teacher that his mommy had a baby in her belly too. The teacher told me that he then added "but I think it's a horse this time." [NO, I AM NOT PREGNANT].

Tanaka Farms

A group of us went to Tanaka Farms for their Strawberry tour and it was so much fun. I am so glad we all did it! The wagon tour involved tasting all the yummy veggies growing and then we all picked a basket of strawberries. Even Cannon was picking strawberries (too bad he couldnt eat them). Can't wait for watermelon and pumpkin tours!

Mother's Weekend

Mother's Day is now Mother's Weekend over here. I had a great Mother's Weekend. It started on Friday with a trip to Color Me Mine with Hudson and his class.




No one should be surprised about what he chose to paint. He told me he was going to give it to Daddy. I guess he didn't understand that the trip was for Mother's Day. O'Well. We had fun. I really enjoyed seeing him interact with his friends. He is so social. And talkative. And imaginative. I was amazed. He told his friend Z.: "Z, I love the mermaid you chose. It's beautiful." And then later we heard him say to her: "I am so glad you came today." Her mom and I were dying. He was also a bit of the organizer (but he wasn't bossy at all). "Wanna play hide n seek?" or "Now let's play tag." And everyone was happy to oblige.

It was the perfect way to start Mother's Weekend. One on one with my big boy. I am so proud of him and really enjoyed our morning alone.

Saturday involved the whole family walking on the pier and eating lunch together.



And Sunday was brunch with the ladies followed by dinner and pictures (to come) at my parents house). All in all, it was the perfect Mother's Weekend.

Disney Fun

The last few times I have been to Disneyland with the kids the lines were ridiculous. Where you couldn't even walk down the streets because it was so crowded. So bad that I have been dreading going back --- and I have a pass that needs using!! A couple weeks ago I went with the boys and met Tracy and Liliana and it was perfect. I was in the park before it opened, stayed a couple hours, did a few really fun rides that the kids loved (The Jungle Cruise and Small World are the best) and then left. I couldn't wait to go back again....

Last Tuesday, we had the same plan...except Disneyland didnt. They didnt open until 10 this week. And we got there at 9. And waited. And I went back to not really liking Disneyland that much again. Here are pictures from this week (notice the boys are dressed as Buzz Lightyear and Sherriff Woody). It was still fun and Catt and Gia met us this time too....but I was a little upset with myself for not checking the opening time (but why did it change from the week before?).

Happy Birthday (32!)

Cinco de Mayo is JR's birthday and even though he didnt want to do anything this year, we still managed to have some fun. Happy Birthday JR! We love you!
