Cannon's Two - Prehistoric Pets

I have a love-hate relationship with Prehistoric Pets. I love it because the kids love it. I hate it because I hate creatures and slimy things and snakes and having to wash my hands even more than I already do. But the kids love it. And they have an awesome 'tutorial'. So we went for Cannon's birthday. It smelled. And I escaped without touching a single thing. But my kids made up for my lack of touching by touching everything twice.

All the kids loved it -- which is all that matters. They ALL surprised me and touched everything. They were so brave!
Of course it was a dinosaur party - worked perfectly at Prehistoric Pets!

The Turtles.

The Snakes.

The Tarantula.

Other creepy things.

Thank you everyone!

Cannon's Two ~ Disneyland

On Cannon's actual birthday we went to Disneyland. When he woke up, Hudson said "Happy Birthday Cannon." And Cannon replied "Happy Birthday Huddy." He knows he is two years old now but he still doesnt really get it. Even still, I decided it would be a good day to put our Disney passes to use and off we went. And my mom met us. Thank goodness we went early because it got really crowded when we were getting ready to leave.

Big brother on the carousel.

The train... their favorite ride (it goes through a dinosaur land, so of course it is their favorite).

The Jungle Cruise.

Yay! Cannon is big enough for Autopia! Doesn't he look big in this photo?

Hudson driving a car too!

November, November

We have so many family birthdays in November. It means the month just flies by and is over before we know... leaving Christmas just weeks away and us pretty unprepared for it.

First my mom's birthday....

Then celebrating my dad and brother's birthdays at the track....

Then Gianna's Birthday at Disneyland (and a party at Chuck E. Cheese)...

Ella's at the "Nastics Place" as Hudson says.

And our little Cannon's 2nd Birthday at Disneyland (with a little party at Prehistoric Pets- more to come)...

Happy Birthday everyone!

My Stinker's Last Night Being One

For some reason it got to me a little. Before I put Cannon to bed it was all of a sudden a big deal that he is almost 2. That it was his last night as a one year old. His last night as a baby. I made JR take a couple pictures with my phone. I held him extra, extra long before putting him down and then got a little sad that both my boys are getting so much bigger. Dont get me wrong...with bigger comes easier (or at least easier in some ways) so in a way we love it. Cannon is talking more, sleeping better, his personality shines through and he is just so much fun and so funny. But I have to admit, it is crazy that my boys are now 2 and 3.5. I guess it helps to think that they will always be my babies - no matter how old they get. Just dont tell them that.

Baseball

Hudson was right. Baseball is the next thing around here. The boys love it. I was pitching to Hudson (and he is hitting the ball great) but then Cannon got the t-ball stand for his birthday and they both love it. Cannon is a lefty and Hudson a righty, so I have to switch the stand when they take turns. They both hit the ball really far and love playing.

Mr. Independent

Cannon is my Mr. Independent. And by independent, I dont mean he plays by himself in the corner. I mean that he wants to do everything by himself.

If he is successful, you get happy Cannon.

If he is unsuccessful, you get the stink eye. Or worse.

But just because Cannon is Mr. Independent a lot of the time doesn't mean he isn't the biggest Momma's boy ever. Because he is.

And he is one of the best huggers and snugglers in the world. When he wants to be, of course.

Spelling

Dinosaurs and letters. That is what Hudson has been up to. He is obsessed (and I dont have to wonder too much about where that comes from).

While we were at the library looking for dinosaur books, he wrote his name. All by himself. For the first time. I knew he could spell his name out loud, but I didnt know he could put it all together and write it out. By himself. I was off looking for books about dinosaurs.

I think he did a great job and I am proud of him!

Awesome Dinosaur Blankets

Last week my aunt came over with an 'art project' for the boys. Well, it was more of a project for her but the boys were involved. They got to pick out their fabric for a dinosaur quilt. They were so excited. Hudson asked me every day "is the dinosaur blanket done yet?" He couldnt wait. Good thing my aunt is so fast and talented so the boys didnt have to wait long. A week later, the blankets came back finished and Hudson and Cannon were so excited. We love them, Auntie. Thank you for your hard work!

Choosing the fabric and ironing the dinos on the quilt squares.

Hudson with a T-Rex.

Now the hard work: auntie takes the squares home, sews the dinos down and the blanket together.

The boys love them!

The finished products.
