"We Lost Him" & "Get a Battery"

Here are a couple funny Hudson stories. I love that he is talking now. It is hilarious to hear what goes on in his little brain....

I took Hudson to his gym class the other morning and Cannon stayed home with Grandpa Tommy and Grandma Guin. The teacher asked Hudson where his brother Cannon was (since Cannon is usually strapped to my chest in some sling device when we go to class now). Hudson looked around, put his hands over his mouth (as if to say 'OH NO') and then shouted "We lost him!" The teacher and I thought that was pretty funny.

Another day, a light in the living room was off and Hudson wanted me to turn it on. I told him it was broken - I dont know why, but there was already another light on in the room. He then said "Mommy, get a battery!" He wanted me to 'fix' the light that I told him was broken. I didnt even know he knew what a battery was before this little conversation.

Merry Christmas

We had everyone over at our house this year for Christmas Eve. Lots of food, lots of presents and lots of fun with 30 members of our family all hanging out together! It was wonderful to be able to house everyone all in one place! Thank you to everyone who came and everyone who helped out!

One of Hudson's favorite presents - a Thomas the Train toothbrush that sings a song he knows.

Opening more presents.... he wanted to play with each present he opened, so it took us a long time to get through them!

The Reynolds Boys (JR, Hudson, JR's Dad Jim, JR's Grandpa Babe and Cannon).

The Reynolds Men and Kids

The Gale/Reynolds Family

How did Cha Cha fall asleep in the middle of present opening?? Hudson would never do that! Haha.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas ~ Love our Family of Four!

"I Dont Like Santa"

I couldnt get a photo with Santa this year. I tried. Hudson was kicking and screaming so bad that Santa couldnt get a free hand for Cannon (and I didnt want a picture with just one of the boys). Here is Hudson's recap of what happened and what he told Santa:

Double Trouble

Disclaimer: JR wants me to add this disclaimer. Hudson was not driving the train with Cannon in the back. If you look closely at the track, you can see, I took the train off the track so that it is stuck in the stop position. I was holding Cannon and let go for two seconds to take the photo. No one was injured taking these pictures. And, not that this makes it any better, but it was Hudson's idea. He said "Baby Cannon in back" and pointed to the little cart for his brother.

Christmas Stash

Hudson found a stash of trains that were meant to be for Christmas or as potty rewards. He grabbed one and asked JR to "open it." JR told him he couldnt open it for him unless Hudson went peepee on the potty. JR then asked him if he wanted to go on the potty to which Hudson replied "yes". We sat him on the toilet and within a couple seconds Hudson pooped in the toilet and then said "All done. Open it." Well... I guess he knows how to go on the potty.... when he wants to....

3 weeks old

Where has the time gone? Cannon is already 3 weeks old and I want to freeze time! I see how fast Hudson has grown and I want to make time slow down. I LOVE having a newborn in the house and am cherishing every moment.

CHEESE!

Hudson brought me my camera yesterday and handed it to me and then said "CHEESE" and proceeded to pose for me. Here are the shots:

Boat Parade

Our city doesnt have a body of water but that doesnt stop it from having a boat parade. Tonight, the people just drove their decorated boats up and down the streets. It was great. We busted out the double stroller and walked the neighborhood, watched the boats and tried to catch the candy that the people sitting inside the boats were throwing at us. We all had fun but JR thought it was the greatest thing ever and already said he cant wait for next year's parade.

You can even see Cannon in this photo:

Cannon Wakes Up

Ok, he is still sleeping a lot... during the day.... but here he is, awake!

...and then back to sleep. Actually, I think he is pooping in this photo. He has managed to get me a few times already... pooped all over me, the blankets and the floor (yes, that has happened twice in the last two days).

Bye-Bye Bo-Bo

Before the baby came, I had a long list of things 'To Do' which included getting Hudson in a Big Boy bed and getting him off the bottle. Well, the Big Boy bed was unsuccessful - he would not stay in the bed nor the room (even though I put a gate at the door - he climbed it). So he is still in the crib (but the crib mattress is on the ground because he climbed out when it was at the lowest rung). Unsuccessful.

A couple days ago, JR couldn't find a bottle at bedtime so he gave Hudson a sippy cup. Hudson took it and we havent used a bottle since. I knew he wasnt very attached to bottles (I mean, I think he is attached to the milk - not the bottle). He isnt the kind of kid who walked around with a bottle or had them at any other time but bedtime. But I still thought he would give us at least a little fight. But nope. He seems to have forgotten (or never cared in the first place) about the actual bottle. So successful (even though it was without intention). So our Big Boy is getting even bigger!

Brothers

I was really worried about Hudson meeting his new brother for the first time. He knew I had a baby in my belly, but I doubt he really knew what that meant - that he was getting a new addition to the family - permanently! I am sure things will change, but Hudson is doing really well. The first day back, Hudson and Grandma brought cupcakes and sang "Happy Birthday" to Cannon, then said "Hi Baby" and after that Hudson pretty much ignored Cannon the rest of the day.
It was pretty funny when Auntie Kelly came over and held Cannon - Hudson yelled "No, my baby! Mommy's baby!" which was pretty cute... and shows me that Hudson does know that Cannon is ours!

It took a couple days for Hudson to hold Cannon but he did it when he was ready.

And Hudson is giving Cannon a kiss before he goes to sleep - he says "Baby kiss too" after he gives mommy a kiss.

Hudson gets a little upset when Cannon cries:

For the most part Hudson is doing really well adjusting (so far) and I will have to continue to show him lots of attention, especially since Cannon is sleeping so much right now during the day!
