Big Bear

We had a great weekend in Big Bear this past weekend after weather at the river was predicted to be awful. Luckily for us, Big Bear had one of the best weekends of the whole season.

We put the older boys in snowboard school on Friday and then helped the younger ones on the bunny slope. Here are the boys ready to go! They all did so great!

Lookin' good boys!

Cannon shredding! He loved it and was really good! The rental place told me he was the smallest kid they've seen doing it!

FIVE

Hudson woke up to his playhouse on his 5th birthday.

Opening presents from Cannon. Cannon wanted to get him Monster Trucks and he picked them out himself.

Brother hug.

WOW! So cool!

Happy boy.

Playing in the paper house.

Coloring the paper house.

I then told the boys to get in the car for a surprise... Downtown Disney, lunch at Rain Forest Cafe. Hudson loves this place.

Birthday Sundae!

Then we walked to Ridemakerz for his present.

They pick the cars, then the pieces, then build it!

Hudson picked Red.

Cannon picked blue.

Loving their new cars.

Holding hands with Dad who met us for lunch.

The next day was his party at Sky High Trampolines. Monster Truck theme of course.

I took lots of pictures before people got there.

But once they got there, it was hard to get good pictures of them moving with my cell phone camera!

Too much food.

The cake I decorated.

To-Go Favors.

Our big five year old who told me he will never be too old to hug and kiss me and hold my hand every day. I am going to hold him to it.

Happy Birthday Hudson. We love you forever.

Almost 5

Hudson woke up so excited today. It was his last day waking up as a 4 year old because tomorrow, he turns 5. Five is a big deal. Five means Kindergarten soon. Five means I have a child who has grown up so fast right in front of my eyes! It is hard not to be excited and happy because he is so excited but I am a little sad too. I will definitely be the mom crying after the first day of Kindergarten drop off.

Hudson you are a parents dream (most of the time). You are such a nice and happy boy. You are always smiling and always talking. You might be the most social person I know. Your confidence and ability to speak your mind and hold a conversation amazes me.

You are affectionate and loving and not embarassed to hold my hand in public (yet, even though a lot of your friends have outgrown this already).

You are silly and loud and busy and always looking for something fun to do. You have so many friends and seem to be the leader of the pack -- but you are a nice leader, always including your younger brother and trying to do the right thing.

You make your daddy and I so happy and proud. You will always be our baby boy, no matter how old you are. We love you forever.

This Week in Sports

We had team photos for football. The coaches let the "mascots" be in the picture -- little brothers Liam and Cannon -- and they were thrilled to be included. Love the crossed arms and tough-guy faces!

Then on to baseball where I displayed my new art project (the team banner). Not so artsy but it is done.

Then off to an imprompu get together where the boys climbed trees and danced in their underwear! Fun-filled weekend!

Monster Truck Art

Hudson and I decided to try Monster Truck Art, where you dip the tires into paint and roll the tires across the paper. Cannon was asleep, so we set up and tried it out.

When Cannon woke up, he wanted to try:
